ABSTRACTS
My abstract paintings question the methodologies of modern/contemporary civilization in how it interacts with and impacts the natural environment. My experiments with painting techniques have gravitated towards the construction, development and application of acrylic paint 'skins' to canvas. The surface is layered, both physically and optically, to suggest a sequence of events, of presence and legacy. Drips of paint, linear segments of time, act as individual histories within a broader context.
